Do you want your children to develop a better understanding of the world around them? To get a glimpse of different people’s points of view and how they live outside of their own sheltered, everyday lives? Or maybe you just want your kids to become truly amazing global leaders. Well, one of the BEST ways of achieving these goals is to help your children develop EMPATHY by walking in somebody else's shoes. And there's no better way of doing this than by reading wonderful stories told from the perspectives of different children across a variety of events, time periods, and geographies.

In 2020-21, Unicorn Charity Club will be offering the Smart Cookie Book Club, a biweekly book club that focuses on reading and discussing thought-provoking and oftentimes award-winning books for 8- to 12-year-olds. If you are interested in joining the book club or want to recommend a specific book, please contact Yvette Hwee at yvettehwee@unicorncharityclub.org.

P.S. And don't forget, for every book that's read, unicorns can reward themselves with a delicious cookie. (Yes, pun intended) So go ahead and join UCC so that your kids can treat their minds and tummies at the same time!
