As a user, it's important to be aware of the potential downsides of any software or service you're considering using. Usually, you need to sign up and try a SaaS to learn about its weak parts.
I want you to save time choosing a right website builder for your needs. This is why Iām disclosing the weakest points of Unicorn Platform. Thus you can make a decision even before trying our landing page and blog builder.

The bad parts
One of the main disadvantages of Unicorn Platform is regular downtimes. Our uptime is 98.59% which is too low for a website builder. This can be frustrating for users who rely on the platform to create and maintain their business website. Boosting this number to 99.99% is my primary goal at the moment.
Another downside is the lack of discounts. The company does not currently offer any public discounts or promotions, which can make it a more expensive option for users on a budget. We only offer discounts for students and non-profit organizations.
The emotional connection of the founder refers to the level of personal investment and passion that the founder has in the company and its mission. This can be a positive force as it can drive the founder to work tirelessly to improve the product and provide the best service possible. However, this emotional connection can also be a potential weak point as it can lead to burnout. When the founder is emotionally invested in the company, they may be more likely to work excessively and neglect their own well-being, which can lead to physical and mental exhaustion. This burnout can negatively impact the company's ability to provide a quality service as the founder may be less able to make sound decisions, manage the team effectively, and continue to innovate and improve the product.
Additionally, the fact that the company is not owned by the founder, but by a new owner (MarsX) whose mission aligns perfectly with ours. In the long term, it may be better when the founder owns the company.
Another issue is that the platform is currently developed by only one person, which can slow down the development process and make it slower to add new features and improvements. However, the company is planning to migrate the codebase to the MarsX technology, which will make it easier to maintain and also allow users to contribute features. Thus, I do not see a need to hire more devs. After the migration, one developer would be enough for Unicorn Platform.
Lastly, Unicorn Platform website builder lacks flexibility. Users may find that they are limited in terms of customization options. We intentionally made the editor less powerful to give our users a feeling of ease. Many love our philosophy, but some users still need further customization. We often create custom code for you if you need something sophisticated. But it is not always possible.
In the end
Even though Unicorn Platform is loved by thousands of users, if you need an enterprise level uptime and deep customization, you may be more satisfied with another website builder.
